Some Important Questions:
- Why are you in the left lane if you are not passing someone. If you are not passing someone within the next 20 seconds, please move to the right. That means you.
- Why are any large trucks allowed on the road from the hours of 6 AM to 9 AM or from 4 PM to 8 PM? They only cause worse congestion because they can't keep to the speed of traffic.
- Why does everyone who drives a BMW believe that they can fit in the 11.25 feet between my car and the car in front of me at 60MPH? Don't you realize you are causing more delay for everyone else? Of course you do. [See note from Wikipedia below.] Are you really that eff-ing shortsighted and selfish? Do you really believe when you cut me off, because you couldn't wait in a long line of cars trying to overtake a semi [with two gas tankers hanging off his rear], that I am going to go quietly [and not flip you off] after I need to slam on my brakes to avoid having you hit me?
- Why does every male in a white pickup truck drive like they are in a BMW [see above]?
- Why do we allow tourists on Highway 17 during commute hours?
I propose that this blogspot becomes a place where we commuters can "shame" the most offensive drivers.
Today - 14 July 09: 6.15-6.20 AM at the first hill just North of Scott's Valley, a male [not a gentleman - obviously] who drove his late-model, gray BMW 330ci convertible up the right lane when all of the cars in the left lane were tightly bunched attempting to pass a Semi. He [without signaling] snuck in between me and the person in front of me by forcing me to lock my brakes to avoid having him smash into me [I drive a much smaller car that requires a defensive posture]. He proceeded to do this to three other cars over the next 12 miles. In Campbell, he was still four cars [10-15 seconds] ahead of me. He endangered many people's lives for 15 seconds of advantage to get to his employment at 6.40 AM? This man deserves the 6th level of hell [my new scoring system] for such knuckleheadedness [just below the 5th level where guys who piss on toilet seats and above the 7th level where men who inappropriately fondle children end up].
